A wholly Yokaichi-owned and operated venture, DEC strives to be a piece of foreign soil within Japan. English instruction plus translation services are provided, and in addition, D.E.C. offers a place where all can experience a foreign atmosphere.

Our mission

DEC has become the primary technology sponsor of Grapesyard School in Korogocho, Nairobi, Kenya. It has been our privilege to work with the folks at Peace as a Global Language (Richard Miller, Zane Ritchie and many others), and our small part has been to supply a couple of Raspberry Pis, used as a means of delivering content from some of our publisher friends. We have also sent a few computers and more recently, some VR headsets, which has been opening the eyes and the minds of these students.

Cancer Research

We are the organizers and hosts of the Gan Bokumestu Cancer Walk, raising money for cancer research in Kansai. Originally started in 2000, we have held consecutive events annually over the past 20 years. For more information, please to the Gan Bokumetsu Cancer Walk page.

VR (virtual reality) should be a part of every learning solution, the world over. Lock in student learning, as no other technology can do.

Affordable Professionalism

Fees have remained unchanged for over 30 years. DEC has tried to distinguish itself from the chain schools by offering a free-form curriculum (a structured learning set which is easily adapted to the pace and the will of the class). Curriculum is student-centred -- with an emphasis on variety and enjoyment. By choosing a monthly payment system, there is no long-term commitment forced upon students. Therefore, the student retains the power to continue to study, or not.
